Pirates and Probability
Was anybody else figuring all kinds of probability during the dice game scene in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie? They put a little something for everybody in there. That used up my annual vote for "movie of the year". If you haven't seen it, check it out this weekend :D

Pirates sucks. I have yet to meet a friend who liked it. Too many characters, too little depth to the plot, confusing. Boring all in all. A recycle of the first that flails utterly. The only redeeming factor is Davey Jones.
Did you see it for yourself? I suppose you didn't like the 2nd Matrix movie or the 2nd Lord of the Rings movie either. There's no accounting for taste I guess.
All in the eyes of the beholder eh;)? Will keep a lookout for the movie, esp the dice part. Thanks for that call:)
I saw it with a couple of college age cousins and we didn;t particularly like it either - however, I do get what you mean about the game - it was Liar's Poker!
You keep raising the 'bid' until you call someone's bluff.
I liked it! I went into it with no huge expectations, and it was a good time. Johnny Depp is great. The movie is a bit quirky and doesn't take itself too seriously, and neither should the viewer. It's a lot like the Disneyland ride--which is the point, isn't it?
Dude, the movie sucked big time. 'Movie of the year' - yeah right. Get out more often and see something of value. It's not even entertainment but mind numbing boredom with zero humour factor.

I don't like pirates. They smell horrible, most are brutal criminals and they get all the hottest girls.
